There’s Something to Learn From Every Moving Horror Story

With all the stress which comes along with relocating, you deserve a moving company that cares, and will get your belongings moved in a safe and secure manner. Unfortunately, this is not always the case with moving companies. After experiencing our customer driven service, our clients often share their moving horror stories. Though we never take pride in the mistakes of others, we listen to these horrible experiences so that we may learn something from each on how to better serve you our customers.
Recently, we were told of this moving experience
A husband and wife were set to move from San Diego, Ca. to Ausin Tx.,and had been quoted a price of $3525.67. On the day of the move, they were as giddy as any family would be, until the movers arrived. Though they had been told their move would be in an 18- wheeler truck, they found themselves opening their door to untidy men who were driving a banged up moving van.
Not only was it not an 18- wheeler,
The van had been unsuccessfully repainted several times- with previous logos showing beneath the cheap, sheer paint. Despite the anger, and frustration they felt, the couple went on to sign the paper. However, upon signing, they were told of “extra” charges which they would have to pay. This was simply too much to handle, but the couple attempted to debate the charges with the emails which had been sent regarding the price of the move.
Although the emails were from an “agent”
From their company who set up the move, the movers did not waiver. The price would have to be paid before the moving could get started. It was then that they called the company- which resulted in being the “frosting on the cake”. The “agent” in so many words told them that the “extras” were discussed and they would have to be paid. Knowing this was untrue, the couple tried to argue the fact, however the “agent” broke the first rule of customer service. He did no listening and all talking.
He did not let them get a word in.
( This is something we at Priority 1 Moving would never do- we believe that great customer service comes by way of listening first, and talking second). So, as a result of the descrepancy about the charges, the “agent” told the husband and wife, that because they were not happy, they could send the movers away- but would not be refunded their deposit. Guess how much the deposit was? Every bit of seven hundred dollars- which they have not to this day ever gotten back! Yes, they kicked the men off their property, and dealt with the fact that they had no way to move, and needed to be out within the next few days- after the dust from the banged up truck settled. Needless to say, they did move to Texas, for an undisclosed price- and hopefully are enjoying their new beginning.
